Why Is Photoprotection Important? Sunscreens play an important role in protecting skin from UV damage. SkinCeuticals always recommends using a broad spectrum sunscreen for optimal protection. However, photoprotection and sunscreen protection are not the same. SPF is a measure of UVB protection only. Photoprotection is a measure of a product's ability to neutralize free radicals and protect against oxidative stress. This oxidative stress can be caused by both UVA and UVB exposure and leads to premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and loss of elasticity.Recent Studies Reveal We May Not Be As Protected As We Think: People don't apply enough sunscreen to achieve full SPF. Real-life application of an SPF 20 sunscreen yields an SPF of only 3 to 4. Even when applied properly, sunscreens only block 55% of free radicals. Considering what we now know about sunscreens, photoprotection is more important than ever. Erythema, Sunburn Cells, and Antioxidants.
Measuring protection from erythema and sunburn cell reduction in skin after UV exposure is widely considered to be a good indicator of antioxidant strength. In a separate study, Idebenone was shown to reduce the formation of sunburn cells by 38% at 1.5 MEDs of UV exposure.

I use the CE Ferulic serum and the ultimate UV Defense. Since using the product my skin is much more moisturised and more youthful in appearance. The softness of the product is great and it feels so light on my skin. The effects are instant and last longer, therefore, less is needed. I recommend the products to friends. Don't forget the sunscreen as well, as this has helped my sun spots not to darken. This was recommended by my doctor.

I use Cleansing cream morn & evening. CE Ferulic morn only. Hydrating B5 Gel morn & evening. Face Cream morn & evening. I used to use Used Dermalogica. Kanebo, (I used to love kanebo, until my daughter introduced me to SkinCeuticals). My skin is quite good but is much better since starting on the SkinCeuticals range. In fact I tried out some injectable fillers in my daughters beauty clinic for the area between my nose & mouth, & genuinely thought that the results had lasted more than a year, until my daughter ( A beautician) pointed out that was impossible, as fillers only lasted about 3-4 months. She said it had to be my new skincare products that had plumped up the lines there. I firmly believe it was the Face cream that done it, & I wouldn’t use anything else now. What I like about the products is the Concentration of ingredients, clear results. The hydrating B5 gel is easier to use & goes a lot further compared to Dermalogica’s imitation hydrating booster. The Face Cream feels luxurious, so does the cleansing cream. My main skin issues are exposure to the elements without adequate protection in the past. I don’t get the opportunity much, but I’ve told all my sisters, who bombarded my daughter with questions about it on the day of my daughters wedding. They are interested in trying it out too, as they see such an improvement in my skin. I think women are confused about skincare. I’m lucky that my daughter advises me wisely, as she does extensive research into all the best products & has an award-winning clinic.

I like it, but it's best with the B moisturizer too

I've used this for over a year and my skin does look better than it ever was before. I used the B-5 moisturizer too, and when I left that off, my skin didn't look as good.
